In The Summer I Spend the Most Money On My Hobbies
It is summer time my friends and it is time to spend some money, right? Notoriously, the summer time is when many people spend a lot of their money on vacations and just travel time. It happens, but as long as you have this extra spending in your budget, then you should be good to go.
When the summer time comes around, I do spend some extra money, but it is not on vacations. I don’t like to travel much during the summer because I don’t like the amount of other travelers that are around along with the heat. I don’t like the heat, so the only place I would travel would have to be much cooler than where I am. Also, since I am not in school and I have a regular job, I don’t get the summer off. This means that summer time is just another regular time for me, except that it is much hotter.
So, what do I spend my money on? Well, as frequent readers of Debt Roundup know, I love cars. I think they are fun to drive and even more fun to work on. I have a project vehicle that is a 1990 Jeep Wrangler that I am rebuilding. I got it for a steal and have been slowly working on it and building it back up to an off-road behemoth. Having said that, rebuilding any vehicle is expensive. If you are going to do it, you have to do it right. I buy all of the best parts that I can get my hands on.
I think it is important to spend money on your hobbies and that is exactly what I do during the summer. My project vehicle is my hobby and I love being under it and getting greasy when I am fixing something. There is also no better feeling than buying a vehicle that doesn’t run and then being able to turn it on for the first time. That is an exhilarating feeling.
Along with my project vehicle, I have started to get into golf. I live near a golf course and there is a range about 5 minutes from my home. I went out on the golf course for the first time a few weeks ago and had a good time. While I didn’t play very well, it was still a lot of fun. I have since started going to the golf range much more and have improved my game a little. I plan on playing with my father a lot once I get up to a better level. I plan on spending some extra money on this new hobby so I can get better.
As a usual article that I post, I want to know what you spend the most money on during the summer? Do you set a budget for your extra spending or do you just deal with it after the fact? The summer time can be a great time to learn new things, play some sports, and just get away. Watch some piano tutorial videos, think about doing something out of the ordinary like bungee jumping, or travel countries and explore unseen sights. I want to know what you are doing.
